First Exhibit

On a bit of a whim in January of this year, I entered a competition called Color, Chroma and Contrast. I entered two paintings, the only two which are half ready to be viewed. One was chosen to be part of a month long exhibition at TAG art gallery in Los Angeles.

Since I have never shared my art so publicly, it was a first experience for me. Really, I have only ever shared my art with close friends and family.

It was a fun and wonderful experience to see my work hanging next to so many other artists of different types of work. It was visible from Whilshire Blvd. While I am not in that area on a typical day, a close friend lives just a few blocks away, so I had occasion to see it drivng by a time or two.

I also had the opportunity to speak about the paitning. I was nervous, which surprised me. My voice was crackling, and I had a difficult time staying calm. That was surprising to me, as I am generally rather comfortable with public speaking. A few people approached me afterwards, giving me compliments, which I appreciated. All that is to say, that I feel I am at a starting point of this jorney of sharing my work.
